I have removed the faulty engine from the car. The paint got a bit scratched in the process which disapoints me.

The engine builder checked the motor and the crank is stuffed. I'm devistated for a couple reasons. Firstly the car is due to leave for wagga in just 6 days to suprise grandad !! Secondly the motor was fully reconditioned a long time ago but wasn't used. I paid an engine builder $1300 to check and verify the motor was perfect and replace any items that didn't last sitting around. Unfortunately they are not providing any warranty for the motor..

Apart from possibly the clutch the engine builder failed to conclusively saying why the engine failed within 4hrs of work. Clutch experts say its impossible for a clutch to do that damage in that timeframe and have told me they think the motor was assembled incorrectly.

I've made the hard choice to purchase a new motor with the help from Mum. Thanks mum !! I now have warranty from an engine company that I can trust.

The new motor is painted black and not grey. Today I started to paint the engine the proper GMH grey.

At this stage I expect to be able to install the motor monday night. Tune up tuesday. Shake down wednesday and thursday. Drive to grandad's friday and saturday. Fingers crossed !!
